10 Simple Tips for Dieting

Posted on By Debra / Leave a Comment

So many foods in the supermarket contribute to people’s obesity. When you take in more sugar, salt and fat than you should, you get fat. Fat is “stored energy.” Your body is keeping the fat in case you don’t have access to food. However, you and I both know we generally have plenty of access to food and drinks.

That said, how in the world can someone lose weight these days? Here are ten dieting tips:

10) Losing weight is a combination of what you put into your body and what you do with your body. Commit to taking a walk around the block twice a week. Walking gets your body using energy and leads to weight loss.

9) Make veggies your snack. Green veggies like sugar snap peas and cucumber are great, natural foods for your body. If you could replace a handful of fries with a handful of veggies every now and then, that would help you lose weight.

8) Don’t keep sweets in the house. If they’re not readily available, you won’t be tempted to gorge.

7) Talk about weight issues with friends and then make a club where you’re all accountable to one another as you try to eat healthier and exercise more. Having others encourage you helps the process of losing weight.

6) Get a “coach,” like Debra Lawson, who can guide you and “be there for you” when you need someone to talk to about the struggles you have losing weight. Your coach will introduce you to new dieting ideas and practices.

5) Use products like Plexus Slim, where you mix a powder with water and drink it daily. Products like Plexus Slim help you feel full, deliver needed nutrients to your body, and, when taken consistently, contribute to weight loss.

4) Allow yourself a “cheat day” each week. 6 days of the week eat healthy as best you can, and on the 7th day, eat whatever you want. You won’t feel like you’re depriving yourself of what you love(d)!

3) Drink less soda pop. I know, I know, it’s addicting. But it also is a major contributor to obesity. It’s basically sugar water and chemicals.

2) Drink more and more water. It may seem odd to ask you to drink more water, since you’d think it would make you bloated, but the reality is that water acts as a system flusher. Your body needs and craves lots of water, yet most people don’t drink 8 glasses a day. Water is one of the best things you can drink to lose weight.

1) Decide whether you want to be “fit or fat.” Dieting is as much a mental game as it is about eating healthy and exercising. Unless you are committed in your mind to becoming the thinner person you desire to be, you won’t lose weight. You’ve got to be dedicated to losing weight if you want to see results. Corny as it sounds, your mantra should be, “I want to look good naked!”
